SERVICES

We offer a variety of different training options to help you with your dogs learning. The sessions are one on one sessions with the trainer so you can get the individual attention that you need. The more notice that we have that you are in need of one of these services the better we can make sure that you are on our schedule.

Basic Obedience

Teaching your dog the commands such as sit, down, stay, come and heel. We can add in distractions as needed to help your dog to learn to obey no matter what is around them.

Behavior Correction

We can work to correct the unwanted behavior your dog exhibits. Some examples are jumping, pulling, not coming when called, and fearful behavior.

Crate Training

Crate training can give your dog a safe option to stay in. This will help you when you leave the house for a length of time, so your dog won't be able to roam the house and get into things they are not supposed to.

CGC Test Preparation

This is training to help you and your dog get ready for the canine good citizenship test to be able to go visit people in hospitals, nursing homes, and schools.

Understanding Behavior

We can help you gain insight into why your dog acts in certain ways and ways to improve behavior in everyday life.

Dog Walking is available

This will help you be able to be in two places at once! Dog walking and playtime is available to help your dog burn excess energy and upon request your dog can have playtime with other dogs. Potty breaks are available too if you are in work or school all day.

Doggie Daycare

You do have the option if you want to go shopping on weekends and don't want to leave your dog home alone. Drop off is available at the location in Sylva. Your dog can spend the day socializing and doing fun activities.

Consultation-Evaluation

During the consultation we will go over all the information about training sessions and the trainer will do an evaluation of your dog and the method you use now to handle your dog. I will also do an evaluation of your dogs personality in different situations and how your dog reacts. The evaluation will vary slightly depending on the issue you contact me about.

Leash Training

This entails training you and your dog to successfully walk together without pulling while listening to your commands.

Family Training

Family training will be done in a family meeting style to help establish rules and go over how everyone in the family can interact and help with the rules to make training easier. This will help your dog gain respect for everyone in the household. Family training will help everyone in the family know how they can participate in the training process.

Socialization

Socialization can help your dog learn to deal wih new situations and interact well with other dogs. We have access to plenty of dogs of different energy levels and I can help your dog learn how to interact with other dogs.

Puppy Training

I can help you get your puppy started on a good foundation. Puppy training is like the ABC's of dog training. It gets your puppy going on the very basics to become a well socialized and well balanced dog.

Doggie daycare, dog sitting, and dog walking are available within the Sylva area. If you are out of the area, you are welcome to drop your dog off where I am located in Sylva for dog sitting. A meeting will need to take place first to discuss everything with you as well as meet your dog. Good Buddy reserves the right to suggest training before dog sitting if behavior is displayed where they show anxiety or need help with socialization. We are just wanting to make sure everyone has a confortable and pleasant experience.

Balance

I also work with your dog on being a balanced dog. This will help to face new situations in a calm manner as well as being an easy going dog. You can have a well trained dog that is unbalanced and gets into trouble.

Sessions are private. The trainer will walk you through learning along with your dog. Homework will be given to maintain training at home, and will help your dog grow as they learn. If homework is not completed growth and learning will not continue. You must complete your homework and be consistent for your dog to learn. Sessions are designed to help you communicate with your dog in a way they will understand.
