About
Let me tell you a little about me and my background in training.....

Hi! My name is Brittany DeHart. I am the dog trainer and owner of Good Buddy Dog Training!
I am originally from Sylva, North Carolina. I have been training dogs off and on for 5 years. I started training because of my love for dogs. I had volunteered in vet offices and pet sit for years. I developed an interest in dog behavior and seeing how they interact with each other. I decided to get into training and persue something that I am passionate about. I work with a variety of breeds that range from pit bulls to huskies to small breeds such as dachsunds and chichuahuas. I do not discriminate against any breed.
I was mentored by Mark Breese who was a trainer for Universal Studios. Mark trained and helped in training several dogs for movies which included one of the dogs for Lassie that he ended up owning. Mark taught me about dog behavior, different dog breeds, basic obedience, and correcting behavior (everything that I know to teach). Mark mentored me working with other dogs to put into practice what I had learned training and gave me a chance to question and learn as I went along and ran into issues that are typical in training. I was fortunate enough to get to work with one of the dogs he used in the Lassie movie.
I look forward to continuing my education in 2016. I currently do private training sessions. In those sessions I walk you and your dog through what you are looking to accomplish and show you how to understand your dog better. Some sessions end up like therapy sessions as I work on a variety of issues including behavior correction and overcoming fears. More details are listed on this page what I can help you and your dog with. I teach you how to read your dog as you both learn together and communicate in a way they understand.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!
